Plan your return connection at the same time. Choose a boat that reaches the airport before your airline's check-in deadline, allowing enough time for the crossing and airport formalities.
Before you fly: the Traveller Declaration
Every foreign visitor, children included, must submit their own free Traveller Declaration on the IMUGA portal within 96 hours before arrival.
Tourist visas are granted on arrival, provided you meet the entry requirements published by Maldives Immigration. Check the requirements that apply to your passport before you travel.
Please don't bring alcohol into the Maldives, including duty-free purchases. Importing it is not permitted.
Send your flights at both ends of your stay
Before you travel, send Koimala your arrival date, flight number, landing time and guest numbers, including children's and infants' ages. Share your return flight details too. We use your arrival information to arrange the airport welcome and speedboat transfer.
If you're still comparing flights, check them against the timetable at coraltransfer.com. The boat runs to a schedule, so a flight that lands just after a departure can mean a wait at the airport. The budget guide puts the fare alongside the rest of the stay.
Check the gap after landing
Allow time after landing to clear immigration, collect your luggage and meet your representative before boarding the speedboat.
If the connection is tight, consider a night near the airport before continuing to Ukulhas, and include that room and the extra transfer when comparing flight options. A cheaper flight can lead to a different total once those costs are added.
If your flight is delayed on the day, message Koimala on WhatsApp as soon as you know.
Arriving at Ukulhas
When the speedboat reaches Ukulhas, the Koimala team meets you at the harbour and takes you to the guesthouse on Orchid Magu. Check-in is at 14:00. Getting here has the arrival steps and the property map.
Make the return boat fit your flight home
Start with your airline's required arrival time at the airport, then choose a suitable Coral departure from Ukulhas. Allow around 60 to 90 minutes for the crossing, which varies with sea conditions. Koimala's check-out time is 12:00; your boat departure will determine how much of the morning you can spend on the island.
If the connection is tight, consider leaving the island a day earlier and staying near the airport, particularly with a flight you cannot easily change. Don't assume that an alternative sailing will be available if a boat can't run.
Once both crossings are clear, count the full days between them. The stay-length guide helps you decide whether the room dates give you enough time on Ukulhas.
Keep the agreed details easy to find
Before travelling, save the details you'll need at the airport:
- Your written booking confirmation from Koimala.
- Your submitted Traveller Declaration, to show at immigration.
- Arrival and departure flight details.
- The Coral departure times for both crossings.
- Koimala's WhatsApp number, +960 791-0886, in case a flight is delayed.
Keep the latest details together so they're easy to find during your journey.
